In this next to last Sunday in "This we believe!" we learned from the Apostles' Creed that the church is holy (set apart), catholic (global in scope), and a communion of saints (both those in Christ, here; and those with Christ, there in heaven). All of this is true when founded upon the confession that Jesus is Lord of heaven and earth. May we hold fast to that confession!

Today in "This we believe!" we covered "I believe in the Holy Spirit" from the Apostles' Creed. Our theme revolved around our worship of the Triune God (as trinity), understanding from the Scriptures that God is over us (the Father), among us (the Son), and within us (the Holy Spirit). The Holy Spirit is leading us and guiding us into all truth as the Advocate, enabling us to live holy lives that please God. Check it out!

This Sunday's "This we believe!" message covered On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. We learned of Jesus' defeat of death, His confirmation of His reign at the right hand of God, and His role in judging the living and the dead for whether or not they honored Him. Once again, the creed is cause for WORSHIP!

It's week three of "This we believe!" discussing the Apostles' creed. We continue to establish that the creed is a cause for worship and joy. These truths are born out of the real Jesus, who really suffered, by real people--all for our sin! Listen in...

Our look at the Apostles' Creed continues today with Articles 2 & 3, "I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary." We see again that the creed drives us to gratitude and worship when we understand Jesus is LORD, able to take away our sin, and not just ours but the sins of the whole world. How great is our God?! Pastor Whit encourages us to declare, "THIS...we believe!"

Pastor Whit began our series on "This we believe!" a look at the Apostles' Creed. We learned that affirming each of the twelve statements from the creed drives us to a place of worship. This week, our understanding of God being father, almighty, and creator moves us to recognize with joy Psalm 145.3, "Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom." We will worship the Lord because we believe these things about Him!
