We finished our Amos series, covering chapters 8 and 9. Amos warns the people of Israel about their empty worship and misplaced trust, leading them to reject God. Despite repeated warnings and visions, they refuse to change, prompting God’s ultimate judgment, a famine of His word, causing them to wander and suffer. This serves as a cautionary word about the consequences of prioritizing creation over the Creator. God desires a genuine relationship with His people. Despite Israel’s wickedness, God remains faithful to His covenant and promises to restore a remnant of His people.
